Arriving in Loreto you can't avoid to be strucked by the view of the Basilica from the hill overlooking the valley of the Riviera, surrounded by typical and multicolored countryside of the Marche.
Loreto, one of the most famous pilgrimage destinations, inside the Basilica retains the wallsof the Holy House of Nazareth, where, according to tradition, the Virgin Mary received the annunciation. This precious relic was brought to Italy after the fall of the Crusader kingdom in the Holy Land, and legend has it that the Holy House was brought to Loreto by angels in flight. In the cozy atmosphere and mystic of the Holy House you can dedicate yourself in prayer and admire the statue of the Black Madonna, the patron of aviators.
To protect the precious relics has been formed around the religious complex a town-fortress that over time has been enriched by art and museums.
Looking out from the highest points of Loreto you can finally see a unique panorama that sweeps from the Monte Conero, the sea, up to the Umbria-Marche Apennines.
